- February 15th, 2010 - Local artist Mrs. Malcolm Jones, of Cowan, will continue to display her art work thru to Feb 15th at the office of New Country Motel. Stop in any time to view or purchase these pieces of art.
- Ride For A Reason Charity Event
- February 14th, 2010 - Mark February 12, 13, & 14 on your calendar. Ride for a Reason is a snowmobile Ride Originating in Swan River in Support of "A Port in the Storm"; a Manitoba project for Rural and northern People. Each year, from Parkland region alone, just under 7000 patient days are spent in Winnipeg by adults needing specialized medical care. We all have family and friends that could have benefitted and will benefit from A Port in the Storm. Trails and additional details to follow. This event begins with a meet and greet on February 12th, and the ride taking place on the 13th.

- Local Family
- December 22nd, 2009 - Here at the New Country Motel instead of a customary gift exchange, we have adopted a local family for the season to gift to them. Our family consists of a young mother who is 5 months pregnant and also has a 4 year old daughter. We provide food, clothing and household necessities as we might provide to a similar household within our own family. We will be presenting the baskets on December 22, 2009. Thank you again to guests and staff for their generous support.

- November 19th, 2009 - We are proud to sponsor the Swan River Rotary Club Radio Auction live on GX94 Radio Thursday November 19th, 2009 from 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm.

- November 6th, 2009 - We are happy to welcome participants for the Whites' Drug Store Curling Classic being held November 6th - 9th 2009.

- November 6th, 2009 - We are happy to welcome participants to the "2010 BMO Skate Canada Manitoba Sectionals" host by the Swan River Skating Club. November 6th and 7th.
